Keyflex BT Description
KEYFLEX BT is the LG Chemicals trademark for its engineering thermoplastic
polyester elastomers.
The polyether-ester block copolymers combine
many of the most desirable characteristics of high- performance elastomers
and flexible plastics. KEYFLEX BT offers a unique combination of mechanical,
physical, and chemical properties that
qualifies it for a wide range of applications.
|
Keyflex Composition
All grades of KEYFLEX BT are block copolymers consisting of a
hard (crystalline) segment of polybutylene-terephthalate and a soft (amorphous)
segment based on long-chain polyether glycols. Properties are determined by
the ratio of hard to soft segments.
Keyflex Characteristics
The highly
desirable characteristics of KEYFLEX BT resins include: Excellent
resistance to creep, impact, and flexural fatigue High
impact strength and flexibility at low temperatures Good
retention of properties at elevated temperatures High
resistance to chemicals, oils, and solvents and weathering High
tear strength and abrasion resistance Easy
and economical processing Good
recyclability.
